Roisin Murphy - Managing Director & Founder

I have over 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, having worked in the UK, Ireland, and throughout Australia. I first came to Australia as a backpacker on a Working Holiday Visa, traveling and working across this beautiful country. I journeyed from Perth in the west, to Darwin in the north, and down the east coast to Sydney. During my travels, I discovered something truly special about Australia and felt an undeniable sense of home. I was eventually sponsored by a facility in Sydney on a Temporary Short Stay Visa, where I began to build both my career and my life.

After a couple of years, my partner and I decided to return to Ireland. We got married, had two children, and settled into our lives, but something felt off. Despite the incredible support from our families and friends, I didn't feel the same connection in my heart that I had in Australia. Even now, I can’t quite pinpoint why.

Following six years in Ireland and with two small children, we decided to move back to Australia and secured permanent residency. Ten years ago we returned to Sydney, where we still had many connections, making the transition a bit easier. Shortly after arriving, we both found jobs and, with some effort, have advanced our careers once again.

I have worked as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Unit Manager of Cardiology & Coronary Care and Nurse Manager for Workforce Capacity & Capability in one of the larger Sydney health districts. Over the past 10 years I have developed skills in recruitment, team building and developed successful retention strategies. I have facilitated growth of many of my team and watched them flourish in their own careers. I have successfully managed the recruitment of over 200 international Registered Nurses and Midwives and assisted them with their journey to Australia.

International Nursing and Midwifery Careers is a recruitment agency with a difference. We aim to use our own lived experience to make the transition of moving from the UK and Ireland a smooth one, to provide support at each stage. We understand how hard it is to leave family and friends, seeking something else, but not really knowing what that might be. It's all part of the adventure.
